Secure Socket Layer (SSL)
As more and more companies build up and maintain a central LDAP repository, the use of secure LDAP connections becomes a “must have”. When the SSL item in the Encryption combo box in the Profile Assistant is selected, Userbooster Light communicates with the directory service across a network in a way that prevents eavesdropping, tampering, and message forgery.
The standard port number for SSL-secured LDAP is 636, though you can specify a custom port number if the service is listening on it.
